Nasolabial Folds and Marionette Lines
Fine wrinkles, lines & permanent creases appear with age around the mouth and can be corrected using dermal fillers for a more natural youthful appearance

Laughter Lines are lines or folds (nasolabial folds) run from both sides of the nose to the corners of the mouth.
The area around the nose has very delicate skin which over time, from constantly using the same expressions, such as smiling or kissing, will cause permanent wrinkles and creases to develop. Over time this can cause us to look older and unhappy as it causes the mouth to have a turned-down appearance. These are called marionette lines.
Both nasolabial and marionette lines are simply a sign of ageing skin as it loses elasticity and fat. These lines can become deeper as a result of over exposure to the sun and smoking.
Dermal fillers are the most common treatment for these lines or folds as they contain hyaluronic acid, which is found naturally in the body, resulting in virtually no downtime after the procedure.

*Patients experiences will vary dependent on age, lifestyle and medical history
Dermal fillers are injected just under the skin and re made up of hyaluronic acid suspended in a gel, which is naturally found in the body. When injecting into the facial area the skin can react, look swollen, red and bruise in some cases. This is a normal reaction to injections and will subside over a couple of days post treatment.
Dermal fillers naturally breakdown in the body over 6-12 months as they are not a permanent solution, which us why to maintain the smoother appearance you will need on-going wrinkle injections. In some cases depending on how deep your wrinkles are you may need a combination of dermal fillers and anti-wrinkle injectables which Dr Prerna Mittal will discuss with you at your consultation.
Dr Prerna Mittal will discuss the options with you at your consultation as treatments vary according to the patient, the number of procedures you are having, the brand and how much is required.
